CASTLEGAR NEWS, Thursday, Aug. 27, 1964 Says Dogs Unijustly Of Chasing and Killing Deer Dear "To the accusers who are un- just: ; I am writing. this letter strictly on behalf of some’ un- justly :accused dogs. ‘his may sound: humorous and itis, but it is also written with’a serious thought in mind, We all realize that some dogs chase sticks, balls, cars and that some chase game animals, But the last item.“‘gets my goat.” have a dog and although ‘not a purebred, he is good with my. children, has never bitten any person and growls at stran- gers. So what dog doesn't? ‘As to getting my goat, it is the accusations and actions of corte persons that succeeds in thi BEST. DRESSED MEN WEAR McGILL SHOES : from EREMENKO ‘These persons have nothing | s; better to do than run up and down the mountainside watching my dog and ‘others chase, ap- prehend and slaughter deer by the dozens. I respect our laws and appreciate the fact that no action has been taken because proof is lacking, If these people who report such dogs have not the courage to tell the owner of a dog’s mis- doings, then I am sure that they are nothing. but a nuisance be- cause they too lack the needed proof. They’ more than likely saw-a-dog out for a walk-and had black and ‘tan spots before there eyes, I say black and ity | because there is the possibility that these nuisances do not know. the owner. There are at least eight to 10 dogs in this area with black and tan spots or variations of this color. I firmly believe that this nuisance believes that every dog who happens to be “off the pro- perty” is‘ automatically chasing game animals. I have complied’ with the licencing of my dog and if one was to count other:dogs in the unorganized territories of the district then you would find that 95 per cent of the dogs are not licenced. ‘ .
