in 1993. The B.C. Senior Games
wants you

tee of your interest, in the sport or
sports of your choice. (While

only one sport may be played at
the Games, you may try out for
as many as you want ‘til you
qualify)

The Games are nice and close
this year, just a short trip to Cran-
brook, so we expect a strong
turnout from Zone 6 (West
Kootenay).

Pensioners curling season over

On Tuesday, March 23 the pen
sioners finished their play-offs.
This final draw was for the hard-
Ware. The going was not so easy.

We were down to eight rinks
and they were mostly strong ones.
It was tough fight all the way. The
top rink and the winner of the
Lamb Trophy consisted of skip -
Wally Brunn, third Bud Lowther
(hey! That's me), second Frank
Steenvoorden and lead Mike
Zoobkoff.

We jelled well together as a
rink and complimented each other.
Nice going boys.

Coming in second and winning

the Sharples Trophy was the rink
of Mike Verzuh who was backed
up by Al Taranko’at third, Bill
Oleski at second and Ken Price as
lead.

Conting in third and winning
the Sherbiko Trophy was the rink
of Arne Askelson who was backed
up by Ab Culley at third, Andre
Lamarche at second and Jim
Moore as lead.

At the general meeting immedi-
ately following the curling - Wally
Brunn agreed to serve on the execu-
uve.

On Nelson's return visit March
11th, winning rinks were skipped
by: Ray Heagy, George Crossley,
Ralph Clay and Ame Akselson.

Bill Cook one of the executive
members completed some stats for
the senior skip standings. The top
ones are as follows: -

Tom Wilson 60%; Ame Aksel-
son at 56.3%; Ralph Clay at
54.8%; Rene Archambault at
52%. The above curlers completed
the four draws.

This job, as pension’s sports
reporter, will be taken over by
another chap in the near future.
