Minor soccer season starts By CasNews Staff Castlegar teams went 1-for-3 Monday as minor soccer kicked off another year in the city. John Pucci scored two goals and Ryan Leckie had the other as the Castlegar Tornado beat ihe Rossland Hotspurs 3-0 at Kiwanis Park in Castlegar in one of two games in the under-12 years-old division. In the other game, Ryan Fontes got both-goals in a losing effort as the Beaver .Valley Flames beat the Castlegar Kickers 5-2 in Fruitvale. In the under-14 age division, Brad Kristian scored the only goal for the Castlegar X-men as they were beaten 3-1 by the Glenmerty Sting. All three teams play again tonight Park at 5:30 p.m., and the X-Men travelling to Haley Park in Warfield to take onthe Warfield Lions in the only under-14 age division game. There are three teams in com- petitive girls with the under-16- year-old bantams, under-14 peewees and under-12 squirts, said Gordon Bos, competitive seniors will play their usual morning game which will be followed by a luncheon.
