D1Qm:10, archasolozgical site and recent burial
grounds of Lakes indians. There were 14 graves

on the site some of which had washed out due to
inundation. The skulis seen in the photographs
were interred as recently as September 30, 1931
but could not be identified as to individual...
Steps are being taken by the Yernon band to have
the remaining bodies removed and re-interred in
Vernon. Burial remains removed from the site are
now in poss2ssion of the Vernon Band.

Miscellaneous pieces from the Bumpus collection of
Fagquier B.C. Ail artifacts come from the Bumpus
property which includes archaeological sites:
D1Qm:3, Dl€m:20, and DlQm:30. Note the lanceolate
snaped point in slide 73. It resembles the 'cas-
cadet type point of the Columbia Plateau.
