gh pe paren SPORTS Capping of off the season By BRENDAN HALPIN ‘Sun staff writer > Here’s an interesting little tidbit for those with an interest in hockey memorabilia. While cleaning his attic recently, 63 yr old Castlegar resi- dent, Pete Kabadoff found a Coca- Cola NHL Hockey | Player Collection which was previously owned by his son Jack. - The complete collection con- sists of Coke bottle caps mounted on a plastic rink shaped back- ground for display. Each cap features a different player from all six original NHLtcams, Chicago Black- hawks’. 1964-65 leading playoff goal scorer, Bobby Hull, and Montreal Canadiens’ 1959-60 playoff scoring leader, Henri Richard, are just two of the faces highlighted on these caps. “My son Jack is about 38 years old now and he told me he collected all the caps in one sea- son when he was about seven,” said Pete..“Judging by the play- ers, the caps, appear to be at least 25-30 years old.” Check It out! At times it rained very hard which was why a lot of skiers did not finish certain runs,” said Red Mountain Racers publicity spokesperson, Debbie Nelson. Lindsay-Roberts, a local Ross+ land favorite, placed second in both Women’s Junior A and Open Giant Slalom events. Cathy Drysdale came in 13. 6 seconds behind the overall winner in the Junior Womens Giant Slalom. “Her time will affect her point standings which will help her career,” said Nelson.
