It is only fair therefore that I give some reasons for my EDITORIAL EASTER TIME, SEASON OF HOPE : There is orobably no other holiday or holy day, not excepting Christmas, which causes such an upsurging of hope in the thoughts and minds of those who call themselves Christians as does the holy season we observe this weekend. At this time we celebrate the an- y oi the fi of man’s hopes. These hopes were founded on a saviour who in the course of a short lifetinte, suffered injury, and insult and eventually death. But this seeming defeat of His Mission became the greatest Victory the World and Time has ever known when the Resurrection that He had promised, happened. ‘And thus, all the promise which beZan with the birth of a Christ Child, was fulfilled. This holy time has been called Easter and is observed on the Airst Sunday following Paschal full moon. This word “paschal” links the old with new. testament, It“is derived from the Chaldee word, “Pascha”, the equivalent of the Hebrew word, ‘Pesach.”. It recalls the act of the Destroying Angel in passing over “the households of the Hebrews when he smote the Egyptians”. ‘Thus this Easter festival ‘the ‘ion of the ori In the first. place my objection is not so much with who shall exploit and.develop our natural resources but the degree and manner in which this will be carried out.
