If you asked me, is she lovely,
And is hers ‘a winning smile,
Is she one of fairest beauty
Feigning wisdom all the while,

I would say she is more lovely
Than the rainbow’s blithesome hue,
Than the purple dusk at twilight,
Than the dawns of sparkling dew.

I would say she is more lovely

Just a Mother, dear and kindly,
