The glory of graduation

For about 150 Castlegar
teens, one chapter of their lives
has come to a close.

That’s the number of
students who graduated from
the Stanley Humphries

Secondary School Saturday,
and their principal is as proud
as punch.

“It was just absolutely an
outstanding group’ that
graduated this year,” said
David Hogg.

“They have a bright future

Outgoing student body
president Sonoko Kambara
agrees with Hogg and adds that
Saturday’s ceremony was a
perfect way to end a great year.

“Well, it was really hot, but
everyone was excited to be

graduating,” she said.

“I’m sure everyone is excited
to be facing the new challenges
we will meet now that we’re out
of high school.”

About 1,100 people attended
the ceremonies, and another
1,400 enjoyed the grand march.
