Assists were made by D. “following Thursd Castlegar RCMP are: look- ing for a car belleved to be red and damaged on the left-front side after a hit-and-run accident Saturday. The hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked car in the 867 block on Gth Ave. in Castlegar during the night of Jan. 18 between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. causing $200 damage to the parked vehicle. The parked car, a 1967 four-door Pontiac, was owned by Nancy Verigin, of Castlegar. Castlegar RCMP request the public's assistance in this hit-and-run incident, and in another that occurred in De- cember. The December accident killed a 55-year-old Castlegar ‘woman, Iris Veysey. Mrs. Vey- sey was struck Monday, Dec. 16, at a Castlegar intersection by a pickup truck, and died the of injuries sustained in the accident, by a game at 7.30 botween Invermero and Beaver Valley. Backing Accident A charge of backing while unsafe has been laid against a Castlegar man following an accident Tuesday morning which resulted in damages estimated at $250. Charged is Paul Fietz who, when backing his vehicle out from Caldset Laundret, was in collision with a taxi waiting to pull out onto Columbia Ave. Driver of the taxi was identified as Dorothy Fleming.
