He is a prime mover behind the present rugby craze at K.J. Mr. olde likes most sports—basketball, sky diving, and of course, football—to name a few. He plans to "broaden his horizon” with hang-gliding! He is brimful of energy, coming to school early in the morning and leaving late. He has worked with young people for many years and does not talk with a forked tongue. For instance, he never hesitates to say that, aware as he is of Castlegar's inducements,* he would not stay if he felt it was out of harmony with his own life style, His motto is: “Although I appear physically fit, I'm a lover, pot! a fighter!” Mr. Merriman, another of our student teachers, is a prime, asset, also, He is a musician, having played in the Nelson city band, Trail brass band, and Princess Mary brass band, He teaches basic guitar, and also enjoys singing! (In fact, he sings with the professional Nelson Legion- a res.) Besides all this, he still has enough breath for distance running, backpacking, soccer and golf! Add to this his hobbies of reading and writing poetry, and you can see he is certainly a fascinating’ person to have around, ee ee Mr. Allen, the third of our student teachers, has just as much energy as the other two.
