have found a better man to be the first mayor
of our united city.”

The Castlegar-Robson Ferry added 30 min-
utes to it’s daily schedule.

The ferry will now run
seven days per week.

in the Castlegar and District Hospital.

Hunt is on for
perfect pooch

The search is on for the
great Canadian dog.

Ralston Purina is looking
for a “Great Canadian Dog” to
grace its Dog Chow package.

Not only will the winning
canine be pictured on pooch
food, but it will fetch a $10,000
grand prize and.a trip to
Toronto for the lucky owners.

Five regional semi-finalists
will each receive $1,000 in
cash

Dog owners must submit a
color photograph of their pet
and a 200-word essay entitled
‘Why I Love My Dog.’

Entries will be judged on
originality, overall appeal and
photographic clarity.
