By half time they‘led 20 to 11. Johnny Ross was the big gun for the loéals notching 9 points, while Don Bates playing for Nel- son also picked up 9 markers. The Chinese boys, - especially Lawrence and Sam Mah were very impressive as they got 6 points each. RAYMOND. DEFEATS TRAIL Castlegar saw some top notch basketball on Monday night when Rennie Mitchell along with three members of the Raymond Union Jacks downed the Trail Motors crew 72 to 53. The game was highlighted by high scoring as Reid Hicken notched 22 points, Al West 20, and brother Larry 14, Rennie Mitchell 10 and Jack Corbett picked up 6. Mr. Joseph Thiel and Mr. John Saxon, attired in the most stylish pring hats: “pourt " for the afternoon. Serviteurs, were Mrs. R. Sommers, Mrs. V. Jones, Mrs. E. Lewis, Mrs. R. Couch, and Mrs. N. Andreashuk. Sale of homemade candy was in the hands of Mrs. L. Grunerud. Mrs. Forgie-Thomson and Mrs. O. Walker had charge of the bake table. The raffle tickets were sold by Mrs. Pretty and Mrs. Ramdel at the tea and re- sulted in a beautiful lamp being won by Wilson Woodrow of Castlegar. Postmistresses at the parcel post wicket were Mrs, H. Som- mers and Mrs. Clara Saunders. Convenors for the whole tea were Mrs. O. Lightle and Mrs. N. Defoe and helping in the kit- chen were Mrs. C. Lundgren, Mrs. Ratcliffe, Mrs. H. Horne and Mrs. J. Sherbiko. Mrs. R. W. Cook, M.E.C., re- ceived the guests and took nam- es for the door prize which was eventually won by Ed Lewis.
