The Castlegar Selkirk Lions Club is spearheading the drive to raise the necessary funds to provide the specially equipped vehicle which will be fitted with a wheelchair lift and restraints. But it can’t be done without your help. To raise the $60,000 necessary to purchase the bus prior to the scheduled April 1 opening of the new hospital extension will take a massive community effort. Groups, organizations, service clubs, individuals, businesses, children’s clubs and schools are urged to get involved. Plan a walk-a-thon, car wash, penny drive, bake sale, or any fundraiser of any sort in aid of this worthwhile project. Then contact one of the persons listed below. - If possible, the Castlegar Sun will come out and cover the event.
