Debbie Zeabin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Zeabin of Thrums, and Earl Moojelsky, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Alec Moojelsky of Castlegar, were married June 28
in a traditional Doukhobor wedding ceremony at ‘the
home of the bride's parents

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a
white, floor-length gown with a sweetheart neckline
edged with Venice lace and long sleeves of English net
and Schiffli'embroidery. The gown's princess-line bodice
was adorned with Schiffli embroidery and seed pearls
blending into a full’ skirt of organza over taffeta. The
cathedral train was edged with a deep frill of Venice lace

Her salinda-design hat was turned up at one side
with white roses and long silk organza. The veil of the hat
was trimmed with seed pearls.

The bride carried a bouquet of deep pink and white
silk roses and white rosebuds, pink and white flowers
with seed pearis, baby’s breath and greenery

Her pearl earrings and pearl necklace were gifts
from the groom

What if you gave a seminar and nobody came?

That's the prospect facing the RCMP who have planned
a seminar on white collar crime for Sept. 19 in Nelson at the
David Thompson University Centre

Few people have expressed interest in attending the
seminar which featares eight knowledgeable experts aN,
subject of white collar crime, said Cpl. J. Patrick McKernan
of the Nelson RCMP detachment’s commercial crime unit
who is organizing the seminar

“We're not getting the response from the community,”
said a surprised McKernan, who added that he expected
more interest from the general public as well as the business
community, especially in light of the recent well-publicized
alleged pyramid scheme in the West Kootenay.

He said 40 people have signed up for the seminar so far,
adding that he needs 120 to go through with the seminar.

He said he is getting more response to the seminar from

chiffon with ruffled drop-shoulders trimmed with satin
ribbon. The flower girl wore a pink floor-length gown
with a ruffled high neckline and ruffles at the hem. She
carried a basket of pink and white daisies.

The attendents carried bouquets of a while lace fan
with an arrangement of pink and white silk roses in
theme with the bride’s bouquet.

All flower arrangements were made by Elsie
Denisoff.

The bride's nephew, Matthew Loewen of Nelson,
was ringbearer

Wayne Moojelsky of Calgary, a cousin of the groom,
was best man. The groom's brother-in-law, Rick Aker of
Calgary, was usher

A reception at the Fireside Inn banquet room in
Castlegar followed the wedding. The room was decorated
with pink and white streamers, hearts, bells and doves

A three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with tiny
pink roses and rosebuds, and strings of pearls and doves
by the groom's sister, Lueille Crni,

Peter Verishine of Thrums, a cousin of the bride,
acted as master of ceremonies. The bride's brother-in
law, Rick Loewen of Nelson. proposed the toast to the
bride.

Out-of-town guests attended from Calgary, Mission,
Creston, Coquitlam and Cranbrook

The newlyweds honeymooned in Banff and Lake
Louise and are now residing in Glade

Seminar needs bodies

outside the West Kootenay

McKernan said the seminar is an opportunity for people
to learn about and learn how to avoid — white collar
crime.

Among the prominent guest speakers who will attend
the seminar include Dennis Murray, assistant deputy
minister in the British Columbia Ministry of the Attorney
General, who will discuss the prosecution of white collar

crime in B.C., Erma Morrison, auditor general of B.C., who

will speak on fraud within and against the government, and
Allan Dilworth, director of investigation for the offices of the
superintendent of brokers, real estate and insurance.

Dilworth will discuss investment, real estate and
insurance fraud.

Other topics include bankruptcy and receivership fraud,
computer fraud, false financial statements and manipulative
accounting, the enforcement of white collar crime in B.C_and
the sentencing of white collar offenders.
