CollegeATHLETICS News Staff CROSS-COUNTRY No complaints so far from coach Sally Willis as the Selkirk Saints cross-country running team com- pleted its first meet of the season in Kelowna Sunday. “They did great, they all ran very well,” said Willis, who didn't know what to expect from her mostly rook- ie squad. “It was neat because a lot of them are new run- ners so I didn’t know how they would run, it was kind of nice, they finished right up there,” said Willis. Karl Schneider posted the fastest time on the team completing the 6.5 kilometre course in atime of 22 minutes, 50 seconds to place sixth. Kris Johnson was right behind Schneider in sev- enth place with a time of 23:05. Jennifer Small picked up the highest placing for the Saints getting second place in the women’s event with a time of 27:39. Pam Braun was just less than five minutes behind Small to place sixth while Anna Riggio was eighth with a time of 37.45. The event was open to all runners in the commu- nity which offered the Saints a stiffer challenge than if it had just been collegiate competition, said Willis. “I think it was good for the runners. That was the whole idea, that I wanted to get them sort of ‘used to the idea of racing so they know when they go to our The NUMBERS TRAIL FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE STANDINGS w F P 0115 53 10 Trail Bulldogs 2 160114 10 S.
