In the rain and cold in South Slocan on Saturday, the Kats put the ball in to the end zone six times Silver Rattle Antiques 301-11 Ave. Castlegar, (in Tulips Building) 365-5191 in the 42-6 romp over the Mates. “Revenge is sweet,” said Kats Coach Tom Campbell. “We just thought it was pay- back for a game we should never | have lost on super Sunday.” A week ago, the Mates beat Kats in Trail 44-30. « The game also had it's own Strange twist of fate. The week before Dom Droucker of the Mates had four touchdowns and an interception, a feat equaled by Kats Neil Berme! this weekend. On Bermel's final touchdown he and Droucker- literally »went head-to-head, colliding in the end zone. Bermel got the TD and a Campbell explained the victo- ry as the team coming together as a unit. “The defense played excep- tionally well, and the offense put it in the end zone whenever we had the opportunity.” And the cold football weather didn't hurt. “We just played the way we can play - an all round team effort.” In Sunday's home stand against the last place Hawks, the Kats only managed to seal the victory in the final minutes of the game.
