Ray- mer, the committee appointed by Ross- land to confer with the Trail officials, told those gentlemen that Rossland would meet them half way, if they would help to defray the expenses of building an iron sewer from Rossland to the Columbia. Both Mr. Fraser and Mr. Raymer were very courteously received by the provin- | cial health officer at Trail and Dr. Cor- san. The visitors were told politely, but firmly, that Rossland’s drainage system was polluting the Trail drinking water causing sickness and spreading disease, and unless it ceased an injunction would be served immediately.
