The weekend saw the start of the club championship getting underway with the low 16 qualifiers playing against one another. The competition is match play with 16 players playing. Those eligible for semi- finals following match play are K. Scott, L. Archambault and O. Walker with B. Perehudoff and J. Bilesky still to determine their game. Next weekend will see the semi-finals played on Saturday and the final on Sunday to determine the club champion for the 1973 season. This I find very disturbing and only hope this is not a change in your policy but just an oversight, To a sportsman, “over the limit" is a very serious offence. A freak accident at 12:10 a.m. Aug. 7 claimed the life of Mrs. Pickering when she was the driver of a Jeep Wagoneer which was making the ferry crossing from Castlegar to Robson. As the ferry approached the Robson wharf the vehicle drove up the ferry apron, dropping to the Robson wharf in 2'% feet of water.
