Per Game Rosa Dos Santos Moniz of Castlegar passed away April 18 at the age of 83. Funeral service was held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church today with burial in Park Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Fr. Herman Engberink officiat- ed. Mrs. Moniz was born Oct. 31, 1903 at Porta Garca, Azores, Portugal where she grew up, married and lived most of her life. She came to Canada in 1967 “fiving in Toronto until moving to Castlegar in 1972. In 1973 she returned to Portugal but returned to Castlegar in October, 1986. She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters, Maria Costa of Castlegar and Connie Pache- co-of Montreal; 13 grand- children; and 20 great-grand- children in Canada, Portugal and Brazil. She was pre- deceased by her husband, two brothers, two sisters and one son. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Castlegar Funeral Chap- el.
