The Third Annual Markin-Lightle Golf Tournament drew a record number of golfers to the Castlegar Golf Course Sunday. Some 110 people soaked up the weekend sunshine on the links in a five-man scramble. Co-organizer Aaron Stoushnow says the event was a huge success. “Everything went better than I had_ expected,” Stoushnow said. “Speed of play is usually a problem but everyone kept up. “We had about 60 people come out last year so we pretty well doubled it this year.” An ll-under-par was enough for a first-place finish for the men’s team of Sean Armstrong, Kevin Kirby, Scott Jones, Robert McGauley and Lyle Stoushnow. The golf course was awesome. They gave truly great support.” A number of draws were made and the grand-daddy of them all went to Doug Knowler. He gets a two-day guided fishing tour of Gold River, a trip donated by Lightle’s parents, Bob and Colleen.
