Skiing, curling, golfing and what have you, Chess Edwards excelled at them all. Today at age 77, be is still in , pretty good shape. This week our retirees golf at the upper course was washed out by heavy rains so we shall have to get back at it next week, weather permitting. I bad a glimpse of Mt Roberts around 10 a.m. and there was a llUle showing of the white stuff on the upper slopes, so we are getting to that time of the year. We bad a nice summer, just let's hope it's not over yet. With the leaves the way they are this year we can see a lot more golf before curling starts. On Sunday we bad our bocce club windup in the Legion basement room and played a four-game format with games every hour with a 10 a.m. start. Our group, #10 on the list, played again at 12, two and four while the other group bad games at 11, one, three, and five. Between games we watched football on television and bad a gab session and some cribbage games. When it was all over we sat down to a really grand meal prepared by the ladies of the auiliary. It was delightful. Afterwards the minutes of doings during the season were read and as Joe and Dorothy Gyte and Thelma Cowland wanted to take a rest from executive work, a new slate was elected. Hazel Pengelly is- our new president, and Bob Glover is vice-president with Mary Brown coming in as secretary-treasurer. Now with the date at the 16th of September, I guess the ice will be going in at the rink anytime now, looking forward to another big curling season _ ,_ 8111 ~tcbiruLtbe Warriors take nn all comers•"' Jong Ii September 11 was visitation day for the Trail~ Ross1and retirees to wander over to visit Christina , Lake and play on their enlarged course.
