Mrs. K. Knoblauch, treasurer,
reported that the November tea,
bazaar and bingo, were a great

success.

A get-well card had been sent
to Mrs. Foust, Mrs. L. V, Camp-
bell reported, and also a sym-
pathy card to the Harvick fam-
ily on their recent bereavement.
Mrs. M. Gallo, Mrs. C. Brod-
man and Mrs. R. McIver volunt-
eered to represent the League at
week-day mass and visits to the
Church but expressed the hope
that many other members will
also participate.

It was decided that envelopes
would be distributed again this
year for donations toward the

purchase of altar flowers for

Christmas.

After much discussion and the
discarding of many humorous
suggestions that were put forth,
the Christmas party for parish
youth was left in the hands of
Mrs. R. Fletcher, Mrs. Whittaker,
Mrs, A. Shutek and Mrs. R. Mc-
Iver.

Delightful refreshments were
served by the hostess assisted by
Mrs. A. Shutek. Booster prize
winner was Mrs. C, Brodman and
Mrs. A. Shutek won the special
cake raffle. .

BEGINS PRACTICE HERE

Dr. Arthur D. Johnson, M.D.,
a graduate in medicine of Dal-
housie University, has begun
practice in Castlegar in conjune-
tion with Dr. C. S. Fowler.
Born in Nova Scotia, 47 yegrs
ago, Dr. Johnson practiced med-
icine one year in the province of
his birth, then for three and a
half years at Bralorne Mines and
six months at Kaslo.

He and his wife have taken uo
residence on Third Avenue and
have one daughter.
