HIGHWAY 6 through the Slocan Valley is now open to traf-
fic after being closed for nearly five weeks by a@ rock slide.
A huge rock overhang was blasted last Thursday by the
department of highways and by the weekend traffic was
again using the road. Highways officials expect the road to

be closed again for about four hours either today or to-
morrow when a further, smaller blast will be set off and
