Robert Taylor

Robert Taylor died of can-
cer in 1969 at the age of 57.
Born Spangler Arlington.
Braugh, the son of a doctor in
Filley, Neb., Taylor starred in
more than 70 films, among
them “Magnificent Obsession”
(1935), “Camille” (1936), “A
Yank at Oxford” (1938), “Wa-
terloo Bridge” (1940), “Ba-
taan” (1943), “Quo Vadis?”
(1951), “Ivanhoe” (1952) and
“Knights of the Round Table”
(1953). Taylor also starred in
the 1959-62 TV series “The De-
tectives” and hosted “Death
Valley Days” from 1966-68.
