Recent assays from the late rich ore strike in the Evening Star showa values oi remarkable high grades for the depth attained, and ranged from $46.50 to $108 per ton. ‘The Georgia Gold Mining Co., whose property is down near the Evening Star, has advertised a meeting of that com- pany to be heid at Victoria, Monday, eb, 27, for the purpose of disposing of the company’s assets. Martin Maloney, late U. S. Customs officer at_ Northport, Wash., and Henry Drum, of Tacoma, ex-state senator for Washington, have formed a partnership and will go into the mining and broker- age busines in Spokane. . These two gentlemen are well known ‘throughout the entire northwest and have large mining interests also, so that their suc- ces is an assured fact and foregone con- clusion.
