Christmas day was the last seen of

him in Rossland. He has not been seen
or heard of since so far-as ia known. He
said he was going to Nelson‘on business
and would return on Monday, which
was pay day. Monday came and went
andno Myers.
He had a job printing outfit, which he
had mortaged for $175, with which. to
start the paper. Of this he paid $75 for
the use of the Rosslander ‘office for a
month. The balance was expended on
the first pay day. He no doubt saw that
it was impossible to pay off the help and
left.

Some who are best acquainted with
him advance the idea of suicide. Wil-
Mam-McLaren, foreman of the Standard
office, save Myers was so nervous be-
fore he left, Saturday, that he could
hardly speak. The evening~before, he
was going about town in the storm with-
out-a overcoat and whe: Sidney Charles,
local editor on the Standard, told him
he had better button up, his hght coat,
he replied that it ‘made no difference.”

There were 6 deatha by landslide, 4
by anJocation in the mines, 5 by falling,

poisining, 8 by typhoid fever, 1 causor

and 18 other diseases.
