(CP) — A youthful hostage-
taker was foiled Tuesday in
his attempt to extort money
from two other boys he had
trapped in a telephone booth.

The nine-year-old boy,
aided by a Doberman Pin-
scher named Demon, told the
boys he was taking them
hostage unless they paid him
$1.

But the prisoners instead
called the police, who soon
arrived and freed them. No
charges were laid.
