Seniors invited
to concert
at Twin Rivers

The Senior Citizens of Castlegar
were once again invited to a noon
concert at the Twin Rivers elemen-
tary school by Grade 4, 5 and 6
students. Castlegar Primary classes
were also invited and filled half the
auditorium. Coffee, juice and
cookies were provided by the school.

The students in the choir and band
put in extra time for practise four or
five times a week.

After O Canada, the choir sang
about eight well-known songs star-
ting with Waltzing Matilda, then
Swing Low Sweet Chariot and
Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

The final numbers in this portion
of the concert were Comin’ Round
the Mountain jospel Train, and
You'll Never Walk Alone. They
finished to enthusiastic applause.

The students then took their places
for the band portion of the concert.
Their selections, starting with a

rousing march, were all received with
enthusiaim.

There was a surprise dance contest
as some couples danced to Roll Out
the Barrel, Lady of Spain and La
Bamba. As it was too difficult to
choose winners they all received
Twin Rivers Tigers buttons.
