First, remove the pool cover. Be careful not to dump leaves and other debris into the pool. Clean it with Stow-Away®, fold and store in a clean, dry place, away from sun and weather Next, check the pump, filter and skimmer Make sure all equipment is in good working order so chemicals can work effectively Vacuum if necessary, unless your pool is newly plastered. In that case, wait a few weeks Make sure your test kit has new reagents. Get new ones if needed. Accuracy is very important to the life of your pool Fill the pool to proper levels and run the filter for 2-3 hours. Then reach about 18 inches down away from return fittings, and collect about a quart of water in a Water Sample Bag or clean container. Take a water sample to your BioGuard® dealer, the pool professional. Your dealer will perform special tests to help you get the water in balance. Because overdosing is as bad as neglect, your BioGuard® dealer will recommend a personalized prescription for your pool. No two pools are exactly alike. They all need specialized treatment. He or she will also help you check and balance chlorine, total alkalinity, PH, stabilizer levels and calcium hardness VALKYR AQUATICS Pool Care Products Replacement Liners e | BioGuard Pool Care System The Castlegar Sun DNESDAY, June 9, 1993 ROGRESS... 7 hou gh the lene The signs are all pointing in the right direction, Castlegar is moving on and moving up. Progress in the long run is a good thing for any community, the long term financial benefits to the surrounding area far outweigh any short term headaches associated with the traffic holdups, detours and dusty conditions The Castlegar-Robson bridge construction project is in full swing. On both sides of the river the construction takes on different forms; the Castlegar side is being filled-in to bring it up to the level needed to flow traffic over the train tunnel and onward to Robson the train tunnel is starting to take the shape of an inverted pear; access to the new bridge is beginning to become apparent with the increased grading and shaping of the landscape. In Robson two of the bridge piers are nearing com pletion and work is starting on the third of the six piers which will support the new thoroughfare; the Robson access road is almost completely up to grade Other construction projects around town include the building of a new Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet and Castlegar's Downtown Revitalization phase-two is digging holes at a fast and furious pace With the construction in full swing all around us, frustration in getting around is evident to all drivers and pedestrians in Castlegar, but one thing is:certain once the dust settles and the major pro- jects draw to a close, Castlegar will become a better place for everyone Gary 365-7389 DISPENSING “OPTICIAN Required for new optical in Nelson.
