RETURN TO PROGRAMS A-Z hy STAT 206 - STATISTICS This course provides an introduction to statistical methods intended for students of Engineering or the Sciences. Descriptive statistics, probability and inferential statistics are covered at a level appropriate for students with some calculus background. The students will learn to calculate confidence intervals and perform hypothesis testing for experiments involving one and two samples. Linear regression and correlation may be introduced if time permits. Prerequisites: Math 100 or Math 740 or an equivalent calculus course that introduces integral calculus. GENERAL UAS ELECTIVE A student may take any first-year or higher, university transferable course to satisfy this elective. Each course must transfer for three or more credits to at least one of: SFU, UBC (Vancouver or Okanagan), UNBC or UVIC.
