provided by a number of B.C.
Vocational and Technical
Schools or wherever approved
courses were offered.

Included in the total were
people trained by on-the-job
training courses. New ap-
proaches to “on-the-job” train-
ing were developed during 1973
to help a greater number of
people at the community level
with local employers participa-
ting in the training process, _

During.the year Manpower
counsellors made 1,148 visits to
employers’ premises to gather
labor market information and
