Indians. The total catch, including
1018 skins taken by Indians off the
coast, was 13.410.

In 1894 the total catch was 94,474

Big Black Bruin Killed im the City Limits
This Morning.

A big big black bear that will tip the

The big fellow was killed by one shot

Denver, Nov. 6.—At midnight there
seems little doubt of the election of Gab-
bert, populist, as justice of the supreme
court. The Rocky Mountain News has
complete returns of all but six counties.
The missing counties are all far from
railroads and are sparesly populated.
Estimates have been msde of their vote,
and the result gives Gabbert 3,300 plur-
ality over Hayt, republican.

serat, on which Gen. Weyler sailed for
home, was dieabled on the north coast
of Cuba. Her engines wese disabled,
but it ea expected by this time she is
again on her way to Spain,

New York, Nov..5.—More, than 55,000
persons will, directly or indirectly, draw
pay from the city inthe first adminis-
tration of the mayor of Greater New

Cc ille, Va., Nov. 5.—The
Chesapeake & Ohio’s vestibuled express,
known as the “‘F. F. V.,” from Cincin-
natito Washington, was wrecked near
Old Shawdell, five milcs. east of this
place, at 1:25 this afternoon. Four per-
sons were killed.
