‘One of the main reasons L.V.R. High School of
Nelson won. the 1980 West Kootenay Senior. Boys
Soccer Title, is because of.a defensive stand out on
. the team. Bruce Benger, the spirited team captain
and leader, drives the club in a defensive ‘role.
During the 1980 season, the centre, full-back and
his mates have allowed only 15 goals in 14 games.
In one game four goals were-scored so only nine
goals were allowed in the remaining 13 games.
