HE IS ROUNDLY APPLAUDED Association Holds a Large and En- thusiastic Meeting at Which Rep- resentative Citizens Talk. The Trail Creek Liberal-Con- servative association held a large and enthusiastic rally last night in the Board of Trade rooms, the ob- ject being to ratify the nomination of A. H. MacNeill recently made by the convention at Revelstoke. The president of the association, Dr. E. Bowes, was present and presided, and the secretary, W. Wyllie Johnston, was at the desk. Every seat in the room was occu- pied. Upon calling the meeting to order President Bowes made an informal address, congratulating Mr. MacNeill upon having received the nomination, and the party upon his acceptance of it. His remarks evidently voiced the sentiments of those in the room,“{for they were fnquiry Adjourned. (By Associated Press.) He re- ports that the Cascade Gold Mining company, located on Greenville and St. Elmo mountains, will resume work in a few days. The manage. ment of the company has placed a large block of stock with e&stern capitalists. The tunnel will be con- tinued ata depth of 115 feet. He was listened to with close attention throughout his ad- dress, the only interruptions coming in the shape of salvos of applause that made the room ring again. In the course of his address, Mr. MacNeill who was one of the delegates trofm Rossland to the convention at Revelstoke, gave an in of the pr of that body, which was heard with marked attention. With reference to his candidacy he stated that he had not sought the nomination; but that after it had been tendered to him he had accepted it in obedience to the voice of his party; and that having accepted it he would give the party the best service in his power during the campaign. At the close of his address Mr, MacNeill wast given three rousing cheers and a tiger, after which the meeting adjourned.
