Stay on Highway 3A to Nelson and you'll quickly reach The Dam Inn Pub. Turn right on the access road and follow the road down to the bottom. Back onto Highway 3A, turn right and continue South Slocan and start climbing the hill. Near the crest is a road to the right lots you'll see the Corra Linn dam along the Kootenay River. Back out onto Front St. turn right and follow Highway 3A (it becomes Anderson St.) until the corner of Anderson and Nelson Ave. where you'll find the Nelson Museum. Take time to tour the set of lights.: one half block up on to stop at Eddy Music downtown and pick up some of your mining, and the develop- ment of Nelson. Back onto Highway 3A (it’s now called Nelson Ave.) we're headed to Lakeside Park. Drive 4 ' blacks saawarids she ridge, and Kokanee St. yntil then tum left on. you reach Second street. Turn right onto Second Street and fol- low it to the entrance of Lakeside Park. Beside the wonderful warm sandy beach and well marked area for swimming, the Nelson Elec- tric tram car starts and stops at lakeside Park. Enjoy the ride which follows the Kootenay River waterfront to the mall and back. We're going to backtrack a bit and stay on Highway 3A back past the the 4-way stop go straight and keep to the i 6 towards RS FRUITVALE kh office. If biking isn't your style, Rossland offers great golf, nearby lakes and a score of other pleasant distractions. In downtown Rossland make derful bookstore. This is where the Rossland Travel Info Centre, Rossland Museum and Gold Mine Tour are located. A tour through the gold mine is a must! remember to bring a sweater or jacket because it is cool underground. The tour will take you through the mine and show you the conditions that the miners, at the tum of the century, experi- enced as they mined for gold. Up top, you can pan for gold and visit the tea room in the museum. The gold mine from the 1890s. You'll wear a hard hat with a light and go underground, re-living the early miners under the earth. Back up on the surface, the museum has an area set aside for gold panning and if you're thirsty or hungry, the museum tea room is ready to serve you. From the museum, take High- way 3B west following the signs that say Grand Forks and in about 20 minutes you'll be at the inter- section of 3B and 3. Turn right and head cast towards Castlegar on Highway 3. the signs that say Rossland.
