Reed of Squadron 581, Castlegar Air Cadets, have just returned from a two week sum- mer camp at Sea Island, Van- couver, where they were part of some 900 boys — ages 14 to 19, who received training and recrea- tion at the expense of the RCAF. Ten out of 28 squadrons were re- presented from British Columbia and six came from Alberta, ana There was an officer in charge for every five cadets. Flying, drill, sports and Te- creation kept the boys occupied. Planes of every description were to be seen at the huge air base with a plane taking off every two minutes. The cadets. were taken on-sight seeing tours to points of interest in Vancouver as well as to famous beaches for .swim- Hills.
