Another Castlegar resident, Joe Hall, who lost to Coleman, in the tourney, won first in the adult push hands event. Hall is a member of the Nelson Tai Chi Centre. The tourney attracted 73 competitors including some from Washington and Oregon, the Fraser Valley and East and West Kootenays. Bankers end on losing note The Bank of Commerce Classics from Castlegar failed to cash in on a chance to defend their title at a CIBC slo-pitch last weekend in Castl § The Classics, who won the title last year in Vernon, lost 10-6 to Penticton in the final game Saturday at Kinnaird Park. Castlegar advanced to the final with three straight wins, beating Kelowna 8-5 in the red-eye game at 8 a.m. followed by two thrashings, 22-5 over Creston and 24-2 over Cranbrook. Penticton also made it to the final with a clean slate, beating Cranbrook 5-2, Grand Forks 10-3 and Kelowna 7-1.
