Bosse Moving In Romeo Goulet’s Castlegar Drug now occupies an expanded por- tion of the ground floor on the North Side. The. centre space of the ground floor will shortly be occupied by Leo Bosse’s Jewel- lery Store. Mr. Bosse opened his shop in Castlegar June 23 last and expects to be open for busi- ness in his Lewis Block quarters one week from today. The remaining space on the ground floor, at the south end in the extended portion of the building, ia being tenanted- by Maddock’s Shoe Store which will be opening for business tomor- row morning. * Barbershop in Basement The Lewis Barbershop, now sit- uated in the space to be occupied More Office Space transferred to larger quarters in the basement where it. will open ‘}for ‘business on Monday morn- ing, The new basement barbering emporium promises to be one of the most modern in the Koote- nays. Spacious quarters, both dir- ect and indirect lighting and rest- ful color sch are calcul cluding an accounting firm and a construction company. - In the~enlarged doctor's office there are two consulting rooms and two examination rooms. The lawyer's office will remain as is. Ed Lewis, Owner Owner and manager of the Lewis Block, is affable, 49 year old, Ed Lewis who also operates the Lewis Barbershop in the building. Mr. Lewis is Castlegar’s first barber, céming here from Born itt England in 1909, his family settled in Alberta when Ed was still an infant. He began his barbering career in Calgary in 1926 coming to Creston in 1931 and then to Trail. Ten years ago, he opened a part-time barbershop in Castle- gar in the Credit Union. Building. In 1946, he built the Lewis Block and began 4 full-time shop within. Mr, Lewis is married and *has intes children, two boys.‘and a girl. to provide the utmost in barber chair comfort. The new shop, wjll be served by an entrance from the outside. = New Businesses Upstairs In the upper storey of the en- larged building, four new offices have ‘been made ‘available and the doctor’s office enlarged to pro- vide office. accommodation for 'wo doctors. are to ocupy two of the new of- fices next week.
