There's .a “lot of contro-
versy these days about “Soap”-
not the soap that cleanses but
the Soap that corrupts. I refer
of course to the ‘adult comedy’
serial which had its premiere
this past week over the ABC
television network.

The debate over “Soap”
began many weeks ago. The
series encountered. severe

* criticism and ynexpected resis-

tance long before its first
airing. It has been denounced ©

viewing to more sober levels

same caution we need in

word to his London audience, ~:

television control us- and (our
family life. Mothers and dads
should get into the driver's seat

their families, or themselves.
