These recorded books are useful not only for the blind or visually handleapped, but also for those persons who may find it difficult to cope with a print book for other reasons, Some examples of this sre persons whose hands are crippled by arthritis, or who due to illness are too weak to hold a heavy book. While the audio books are not carried in stock on the Kootenay Bookmobile, they may be obtained by Tequest to the Bookmobile staff, Stock has also been provided on loan to the Castlegar and Nelson public libraries. The East Kootenay branch of the library develop- ment commission has a stock of about 80 of the audio books for loan to East Kootenay libraries, Kimberley has taken advantage of the loan, and the tapes are being sent to Invermere and Fernie.
