ter the car they were riding in
left Highway 3 about five kilo-
metres west of Castlegar Fri-

and passengers Bruce Callen-
der, Daniel Bosse, and Lorne
Andrews, Damage to the ve-
hicle is estimated at $3,000.

Dower, who was driving a
1976 Volvo, has been charged
with driving too fast for road
conditions,

Burnaby has been charged with
impaired driving and for having
a blood alecho} count over .08
after the 1957 Triumph con-
vertible he was driving struck a
dirt pile on Columbia Avenue in
Castlegar at 7:10 p.m. Satur-
day. Police say the driver was
not hurt and damage to the car
is estimated at $400,

Castlegar RCMP are in-
vestigating an incident in which
a high-power rifle was used to
put a hole in a tank containing
600 gallons of diesel fuel. Police
say the tank was located about
a quarter mile north of Hugh
Keenleyside Dam.

A nearby tugboat was
broken into. Entry is reported
to have been gained by break-
ing a window. Stolen are two
floater coats, one fireaxe and a
compass.

in a single vehicle accident
Saturday on Porcupine Creek
Road when a 1978 GMC 4x4,
driven by George Swinarchuk
of Castlegar, sustained an esti-
mated $1,600 damage. No
juries have been reported.

vehicle accident Saturday after-
noon in Robson on Waldie
Street when a 1966 Chevy
pickup, driven by Steve P.
Samarodin, sustained approxi-
mately $600 damage when it
was in collision with a .1965
Mustang driven by Anson M.
Lepage of Robson,

Samarodin ‘has . been
charged with failing to yield the
right;of-way. No, injuries have
been reported. Damage to the
Lepage vehicle has been esti-
mated at $300.

No injuries have been
reported in a two-vehicle acci-
dent Saturday afternoon at
Columbia Avenue and Pine
Street.

The incident occurred
with a 1973 Datsun station-
wagon, driven by Terry L. Lee
of Castlegar, was in collision
with a 1967 Chevy sedan being
driven in the opposite direction.

While damages are esti-
mated at only $100, Lee has
been charged with driving too
fast for road conditions.

Also at Columbia Avenue
and Pine Street, during the
noon hour Saturday, a 1968
model car and a 1972 pickup
collided causing damages esti-
mated. at $600.. Drivers have
been identified as Dean Charles
Dinning, 16, and Sidney Esta-
brooks, both: of Castlegar.

No injuries have been
reported and charges have
been ‘laid against Dinning.
Because he is a juvenile, how-
ever, police have not released
the nature of the charges.

mately $100 damage, with
damage to the Monte Carlo,
driven by Diane Giles, esti-
mated at $600.

Police investigated a two-
vehicle accident Saturday on
Broadwater Road in Robson in
which a 1970 Camaro, driven by
Cindy Anne Petrie of Van-
couver, sideswiped a 1973
Chevy driven by Norbert F.
Breen of South Slocan.

Petrie, who was driving a
vehicle owned by Breen, has
been charged with driving
without a driver's licence.

Approximately $700 dam-
age has been estimated to each
vehicle. No injuries have been
reported.

Two Vega's each sustained
approximately $1,000 damage
when in collision on Columbia
Avenue and Woodland Drive
Saturday.

Drivers have been identi-
fied as Daniel Warren Barns
and Thomas Carl Brodman,
both of Castlegar.

The Barns vehicle was
making a left turn onto Wood-
land Drive when it was struck
by the Brodman vehicle.

“ No injuries have been re-
ported. Brodman has been
charged with ‘driving without
due care and attention.

Vera A, Terpin of Castle-
gar has been charged with
failing to yield the right-of-way
to ferry traffic after her 1976
pickup was in collision with a
1966 Valiant driven by Stephen
Tysen, also of Castlegar.

No injuries have been
reported in the incident which
occurred at 3:40 p.m. Monday
on the Castlegar side of the
ferry. Each vehicle is reported
to have had approximately $300
damage.
