From the bottom of the winze a drift to the west is being driven on the ledge and is in 85 feet with a very good showing. Seven men are employed. Novelty. Since the resumption of work under the new contract on this property 40 feet of an extension has been cut in the tunnel. Nothing new is noted in. the rock being cut, except that it igofa very hard calcite character, and _is being worked at a heavy expense. The calcu- lations are that the ledge will be cut in about 15 days, and that the vertical depth obtained should give some high values in the big ledge of ore. Sunset No. 2. The big crosecut at the 800 foot level is being continued, and from the present indications the end of the drift is about to tap the vein, as all the rock isof a highly mineralized ledge matter, with splendid ore in stringera.
