Thank you to all people who supported the Junior club. Rally Being Held For Little Brothers Castlegar Big Brothers are having a car rally with the Little Brothers in’the area. The rally is slated for Sunday, with the starting point to be at the old Husky station. A picnic to take place at the end + of the rally. Trophies will be presented to the top three winners. The rally will allow the Little Brothers to act as navi- gators, by following directions be enjoyable for the” Little Brothers, itis quite certain that there will be more events to take place in the future. The Little Brothers would like to see spectators and on- lookers at the rally, so anyone interested is welcome to attend the starting procedures and wish the young fellows a successful journey. Ladies’ Keep Fit Especially for the ladies, we have two classes that will centre on keep fit. In Blueberry on Monday evenings from 7 - 8 p.m., Fay Fodor will be conducting a class in keep fit. This should provide the participant with a number of exercises which will improve her physical well-being. Self-Defense Also on Mondays and be- ginning at 8 p.m. will be a class in ladies’ self-defense. This pro- gram, under the direction of, Bil! McGraw, will offer the participant the basics in self- defense, For any person over the age of 12 there will be a Kung Fu class at the Community Complex on Mondays. This program teaches a variety of hand and foot techniques for self-defense. Chess Club A more relaxing activity will also be starting this week and that is chess. Under the co- ordination of Ted Archambault, this program will be scheduled for the SHSS cafeteria on Wednesday evening. If interest warrants it, we would like to set up a Chess Club. If interested in this activity, leave your name at the Recreation Office. Dog Obedience .. ,The one other activity which we would like to mention is the dog obedience program which gets under way Monday. String Quartette Next Thursday, we have an interesting music happening taking place in our community. The Purcell String Quartette from Simon Fraser Universi Rebel Booster Club The Rebel Booster Club is once again preparing itself for the coming season and is now in the process of reorganizing, Persons interested in the club and its promotion of the local junior hockey club should note the general meeting. On Tues- day, in the community complex, club members will be making plans for the coming season. As this is their general meeting, ° they welcome your attendance, Next home action for the Rebel club shall be tomorrow night, when they play host to the Rossland Warriors, For an early look at the team and a look which I am sure will keep you coming back, be sure to be at the complex on Friday. Public Skating. Public skating is once again a main attraction at the complex and for your pleasure we have a number of skating times. This year we are at- tempting to offer a wide variety of times that include morning, afternoon and evening sessions. Morning sessions are on Wed- nesday and Friday while after- noon times are slated for Tuesday and Thursday. For the weekends we have times slated for Friday eve- ning, Saturday afternoon, Sun- day afternoon and Sunday evening.
