Bill Sherwood of Rossland-Trail, shot a 76, to take third, followed by Gordie Walker of Castlegar, with a 77, Mike Wichert of Castlegar with 78 Sherstobitoff Two Under Brothers Finish One-Two and Greg Adams of Nelson with 1. The Savoy-] Inn team tro- phy winner was Castlegar, with a total score of 300 strokes. Rossland-Trail and Nelson tied for second place with four-man team score of 343, each, The individual Savoy-Inn trophies went to: Ken Shersto- bitoff (16 and over), Greg Adams (14 and 15) and Gordie Walker (13 and under), Four Qualifiers To Compete at Games Four golfers have qualified for the Kootenay team, which will compete in this year's B.C. Summer Games at Richmond, Aug. 2-4. In 18 holes of golf at the Castlegar Golf Course last Saturday, Ken Sherstobitoff of Castlegar shot a 70; his bro- ther, Ron, carded a 74; Danny Walker, also of Castlegar, had a 18; and Greg Adams of Nelson, took a 78. The other four members of the eight-man team, (13 to 26 years of age) will be chosen from the East Kootenay region. Dusseault and Friesan Make Semi-Finals By LORI FRIESAN On July 7 and 8 we are planning our first Singles Tour- nament, which is open to both juniors and adults. If there is sufficient entry, the juniors will be divided into divisions: 14 years and under and 18 years and under. The adults will be divided into two categories also, with men's and ladies’ singles 19 years to 40 years and Vets division being 40 years and older. We are hoping to get a lot of entries in all divisions. The tournament is open to all tennis clubs in the area. Entry fee will be $5 per person and will include an evening social on Saturday night. The Dunkers, Trophy was won by the Castle- gar RCMP, who have now been the victors in two of the last three years, The' RCMP finish- ed just a shade ahead of second place CJAT radio, while the Bob Brandson Pool staff (who swam with a handicap) finished third. There was no foul play evident during the heats and the finals, although one dis- gruntled CJAT swimmer (who asked to remain unidentified) stated that the threat of constant monitoring of activi- ties did make him‘swim slightly slow: in the finals. Swimathon chairman P.
