This work will be finished by Satur- day. . DEATH OF MRS. 8. M. WHARTON. The sad news of the death of Mrs. 8. M. Wharton reached Rossland today from Spokane. Mrs. Whartomd was the wife of Col. Samuel M. Wharton who is the principal owner of the Cliff mine and has otherwise been identi- fied with Rossland from the early days. Mrs. Wharton was 50 years of age, and was the picture of health and vigor until this her fatal illness.
