n D.4 As I write this column Christmas Day bas come and gone. The holiday bas been a quiet one for the Peppers this time around. Our family bas all been occupied with their own growing families and Mum and I like it too well in Rossland to consider leaving tQ go on a long bus trip to Brooks, Alta., or to the Coast during the winter season. So, we did a little job of decorating our new home and enjoyed the company of friends and the taste of good food and drink. When spring shows signs of coming to Ros.,land maybe we'll ~ e a trip one way or the other. I'll try to fit it in between the end of the curling season and the opening of the upper golf course. I don't want anyone to think that we don't love our kids and their families, we do indeed, but a fellow has to put things in perspective, curling and golf mean quite a lot too. Another thing I hate to miss is a Warrior home game. In my younger days I liked to travel with the youngsters but nowadays I prefer to be a home fan. Over the years our Warrion have provided me with a lot of excellent entertainment and I look forward to a lot more of the same. While on the ·subject of the Warriors, they seem to be saving their wins for the other teams' fans this season. 'lbeir last two wins have ccme in away games but I have to say that the game played with Columbia Valley last Friday · evening was definitely one of the best any Warrior fan co~ wish for. Now I just want to see them beat the Castlegar Rebels. They are tlie only team in our division they haven't been able to beat yet this season. Last week I mentioned the Warrior alumni game which will take place before you read this, Dec. 'El, I hope to see a good crowd out for this one, some of the boys from the days gone by are already in town and r.m thinking this one will be a real good one to watch. I hear I'm slated for the statistics box, probably with Kenny Stanton for my partner. In the. realm of Retirees Curling in Rossland we shall be back in action again on Jan. 3 and all signs point to a new winner of this competition. Angus Popplewell's foursome is having some difficulty this time around and we will probably aee SCJme011e else taking top place this time. Also, we shall in all probability see a couple of new faces in the secondhalf lineup, Norm Harry and Lloyd "Whitetail" McLellan have signified they are ready to try it out. Norm has had a leg problem which kept him out during the first half and Lloyd has decided to give it another try. There are a couple more who may join , us too. And seening as this is a short week and I'm a day late with my copy it's time I said, Till next week, then!
