Funeral service was held yesterday from Robson Mem- orial Church, Born in rolins, Min. ug. 17, 1903, Mrs. Hingley has resided in Castlegar since 1946, mar- rying Maurice Hingley in 1950. Mrs. Kingley was the former Miss Glades Drew, a name well-known in Robson. She was a member of St. david's Anglican Church and the Eastern Star Minto Chap- ter and past-president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary to Royal Canadian Legion No. 170. Mrs. Hingley is survived by her husband, Maurice; one brother, George Drew of Aldergrove; two sisters, Mrs. James (Beatrice) Ewing of Tecoma, Wash, and Mrs. Beulah Webber of Gig Habour, Wash. Rev. Castlegar town council has made B.C. history. This was announced by Ald. Carl Henne Tuesday night when he stated Castlegar is the only town to have its mayor and two aldermen go in by acclamation. “There ‘have been many mayors go in by acclamation and also many aldermen, but there has never been an entire slate in one town to have that honor until. this year in Castlegar,” said Mr. Henne. . Mayor Landis said that his is proud of the honor as he feels it indicates that the people in Castlegar are satisfied with the work he and his council have done in the past two years. N. Car Accidents Accompany Tuesday Snow Two separate accidents, occurring during last Tuesday's snowfall, have resulted in. a total of $1,800 damage. An estimate of $1,000 damage was given in a mid-afternoon head-on collision by the Robson Elementary School in Robson. Drivers were idéntified as Helen Marken of Castlegar, driving a 1971 Torino and Angeline Jolly, driving a 1967 Ford. The collision occurred on a corner. Road conditions were ° reported slippery with the drivers’ view obstructed by a hedge. No injuries were reported. No charges are being laid. Damage is estimated at $500 to each vehicle.
