Sylvest-Deitch Vows

Denise Ann Deitch and David Arthur
Sylvest exchanged wedding vows in a double- °
ad ceremony held in the Nelson Courthouse on

The bride is the'only daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. Bruce Deitch of Brisbane,. Australia, and
the groom the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs, Aage

Sylvest of Castlegar.

The bride wore a formal gown of off-white
silk and carried a cascading bouquet of yellow
orchids. Her jewelry was a diamond pendant

mother, Mrs. B, Deitch, the groom's grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Aage Sylvest, Sr. and Mr.

The reception was held in the Hi Arrow
Arms Motor Hotel where guest tables were
accented with yellow orchids, lilacs and slender
yellow tapers.

‘An Australian-style dinner, featuring fam-

ily favorites, had been arranged by Mrs. Deitch.

During dinner, a congratulatory call from
the bride's father, Mr. B. Deitch from Brisbane,
was received by the bride and groom. Good
wishes were also conveyed from the bride's
younger brother, Craig,

Garage Sale Highlight
Of Auxiliary Meeting

with soy sauce and sherry, Rub
sauce into chicken with fingers.
Allow to soak for 10 min.

Meanwhile make the

In a small saucepan dis-
solve sugar, salt, and lemon
extract in water. (Taste here to
adjust sweetness and lemon to
personal taste). Mix cornstarch
with 2 T, water, stir into sauce
and thicken. Set on back of
stove to keep warm.

Dredge chicken in corn-
starch. Heat % inch of oil in
frypan. Fry chicken breasts, 2
minutes each side and drain on
paper towelling. Place on ser-
ving platter and slice crosswise

2/3 tb. prawns i

2%: T. black beans
1. dry sherry
3 green onions - cut into
14-inch lengths
2 dried hot red pepper - seed:
and minced :
4 cloves garlic
1% grated fresh ginger
Ye t. salt
1t. sugar .
14 oyster sauce
1 T. soy sauce
IT. cornstarch .
Combine beans and wine in
a bow! — allow to stand for 10
minutes, Add ginger, garlic and
peppers, sugar, salt, soy sauce,
oyster sauce, and 1 cup water.
Mix cornstarch with 1 T. water.
Heat ‘4 inch of oil in frypan
- add ginger, garlic, green

onions and peppers, stir-fry for ©

5 seconds, add prawns and
stir-fry 1 minute.
Add soy sauce mixture

-and, when boiling, thicken with

cornstarch mixture. Garnish
with parsley (Chinese parsley if
available),
