Under sunny skies, but strong winds, Kirby played a solid game of golf with a 86 on the front, followed by a 37 on the back nine, to finish with a low gross of one over par 73. Gordie Walker of Cast- legar was the leader on the front nine with an excellent 35, but faltered in the stretch with a 40, to take second place in the tourney with a low gross of 75. Bruce Bradley of Ross- land-Trail, a much improved youngster, placed third with a surprising low gross score of 78, ahead of Mike Wichert, Castlegar, and Kevin Fraser of Rossland-Trail, both with an 80. K. Fraser, Rossland-Tr- ail won first low net with a 70, followed by D. Markin, Castlegar with a 75, and G.Adams, Nelson with a 76 low net, In the second flight, C. : Lind, Castlegar won the first low gross with an 85, ahead of J. Stahl, Salmo, with an 86 and J. T'm counting on the more experienced swimmers to pull through with a good effort. Rob McGailey and Kelvin Beattfe are help- ing out with the younger swimmers, and will also be helping at meets.
