BB CASTLEGAR NEWS, June 29, 1983 Pythians gather in Sidney The 68th session of the Grand Lodge of B.C, Pythian Sisters and Knights of Py- thias was held in Sidney, B.C. May 12 and 13, Opening cer- emonies were held May 11 in ' the Sancha Hall with the Knights of Pythias and Py- thian Sisters officers taking part. Greetings came from the acting Mayor of Sidney, Su- preme Chief Alice Jorgenson and Supreme Junior Elnora Gorman. Grand Chief Rose Soberlak and Grand Chan- cellor Joe Fenton introduced their officers. The evening was compléte with entertainment by the boys and girls choir of San- scha consisting of 76 mem- bers taking part in an hour of singing. Grand Temple ses- sions began with Grand Chief Rose presiding. She named her pages as G.M. Joy Saun- ders, and G.J. Fran Moffat. Edith Wilson was musician. The grand officers presented Vacquroy (Vernon); No. 4 — Ruth Hanley (Vancouver); No. 5 — Florence Bacon (Vic- toria); No. 6 — Pamela Cor- rigal (Courtenay). Grand sessions ended with a banquet and dance in the Sanschia Hall with the Park- lands High School’Band pro- viding the music. Grand lodge will be held in Kam- loops in 1984, Local Sisters and Knights attending were Mr. and Mrs. Seamen Dewis, Winona Gor- don and husband, Joy Saun- ders, Fran Moffat, Jean Jones, Joan Marks, Inis Mc- Adam, Edith Wilson, Slim and Myrtle Thomas and -Mary Gleboff.
